The University Libraries at Stony Brook are open to the public during hours of operation, free of charge. Anyone is free to use the public facilities and the collection while in the library.

The borrowing of library material is limited to faculty, staff and currently registered students. Community members who wish to borrow material can set up a Community Borrower account for a $60 annual fee. More information and the application are found on the Privileges page
