Q. How do I get help?
Need help conducting research in a particular field? We have librarians who specialize in different fields. Check here to see which librarian matches your field of research. Once you find the librarian who matches your field, click on their name and you will see how you can contact them for research help.
Having trouble doing research and want to speak with a librarian? Here are three ways to ask us!
- Click the “Ask Us” button to start a chat with a librarian. Chat is available from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday through Friday, some weekends and holidays during the fall and spring semesters.
- You can email your questions to Library_Reference@stonybrook.edu. A librarian will respond within 24 hours Monday through Friday, and as soon as possible on the weekends and holidays.
- You can call 631.632.7148 (North Reading Room) to speak directly with a librarian, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, during the fall and spring semesters.
