Anyone in the general public can access Subject Guides at Stony Brook University Libraries, and many guides do include a few free, open access resources. Paid or subscription online resources - ejournals, ebooks, databases - are only available to current Stony Brook students, faculty and staff.

Access to the Library's paid online resources is through your NET ID, which is not managed by the Library but by the Registrar and the Department of Information Technology (DoIT).  According to DoIT's page on Deactivation of Computer Accounts, your NET ID is de-activated 200 days (approximately six months) after your last class meeting date.  Please see their web page for more information.

You would have to speak with DoIT about any possible extension of your NET ID.  Phone: (631) 632-9800 | Email: supportteam@stonybrook.edu.
