In addition to using the search box on the library homepage (select CATALOG) or STARS (see link below)to find the call number for the book, also note the location or which library has the book. Depending on the subject of the book, it may be located in the Main Stacks, the Health Sciences Library, the Chemistry Library, or one of the other branch libraries.
For books located in the Main Stacks, please check which floor of the stacks it is located on (see LOCATING MATERIALS link below). Remember the entrance to the Main Stacks is located on the South East corner of the third floor in the Melville Library. Use the internal staircases to go to the second or fourth floors if necessary.
You should also note whether or not the book is available on the shelf. When using STARS, check the Total Items/On Loan column to see if there are any copies available.
