As a general rule, Stony Brook University Libraries does not purchase textbooks.
The professor of your course may have placed a copy of the textbook on RESERVE, so that everyone in the class can have access to it. Usually, these copies can only be borrowed for two to four hours and cannot leave the library. To see if the textbook is on reserve, click COURSE RESERVES on the upper right corner of the library homepage (see link below). Enter the title, course number, instructor, department or author to search for the book.
