Google Scholar searches articles, books, theses, and other scholarly material. Google Scholar can be accessed at scholar.google.com.

To enhance your Google Scholar search experience, you can update your settings to connect to Stony Brook University Libraries to help find full-text articles.  Here's how:

  1. Visit scholar.google.com. Log into your SBU Google Account in the top right corner of the screen.
  2. Click the menu icon on the left side of the screen (hamburger menu icon).
  3. Click on Settings.
  4. Click on Library links.
  5. Type "Stony Brook" in the search box and click the search button.
  6. Place a check next to Stony Brook University - FullText@Stony Brook.
  7. Click Save.

Once you set this preference, you will see links to FullText@StonyBrook next to your search results. When you click on FullText@Stony Brook, you can see if the full text of an article is available in print or online via the Stony Brook University Libraries.

Please keep in mind that Google Scholar does not link to all of the resources that are available through the Stony Brook University Libraries website. Please check our databases or ask a librarian for help if you have trouble finding the full text of an article.
